12 month contract
The BMJ is seeking a trained journalist to cover clinical news for its busy news desk. The successful candidate will have some experience reporting on the pharmaceutical industry, drug controversies, regulation issues, clinical management and clinical guidelines.
You will be expected to have some relevant contacts in these fields, be able to cultivate your own networks and generate original news stories. We are also looking for someone who is confident in reporting on clinical research papers in an engaging way, who has a strong writing style and who can work to daily deadlines. The role will involve covering clinical topics for the UK and international audiences, including travel to medical conferences.
This is a news desk role, reporting to the News Editor, but with the potential to write features and carry out investigations.
